Our Use of Your Data
The Startup Guide is a free resource developed by the USAID Local Enterprise Support Project (LENS) and published by the Jordan Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Supply. USAID LENS is a 6-year activity implemented by Family Health International (FHI 360), a non-profit registered in the USA.

When accessing the Startup Guide, USAID LENS gathers your data to assess the guide’s impact on formalization. The data gathered on this site are analyzed periodically, with findings being reported both to USAID and project partners. Identifiable information such as your name and phone number help us more accurately monitor the unique number recipients of the guide. The information is also used by us to link data to public registers of businesses; this helps us assess how many recipients ultimately register a business. We understand that not all individuals wish to share this information, and therefore make the resource available for anonymous download here

USAID LENS / FHI 360 takes confidentiality seriously. While aggregate findings and de-identified data may be shared at any time with donors and the public, information that directly identifies you is never shared with individuals outside of FHI 360 and USAID. On this website, data that directly identifies you is understood to mean your name and contact information. 

Data shared by you on this website are stored on a secure server in Jordan with 128-bitencryption. USAID LENS will close all activities by June 2019 and cease to operate by September 2019. As part of this process, the guide, this website, and the website contents will be transferred to project partner or governmental entity for stewardship. The nominated entity will manage and host the Startup Guide from this point onward for the benefit of the community. Data shared by you prior to this handover will not be transferred to the nominated entity, instead being hosted and archived by the FHI 360 home office in Washington, D.C.
